- Acceptance decision
- The outcome of the firm's acceptance and continuance assessment of a client or engagement, recorded on the engagement with its reference (cleared, not required, pending or declined).
- Client service
- One of the firm's services taken by one client, from a start date, with a person responsible and a reviewer.
- Due-date rule
- How a service's due date is worked out from the period: a day of the next month, days or months after the period, a fixed date, days after the client's own date, or by hand.
- Engagement
- What the firm has agreed to do for a client: title, service lines, period, partner, fee and scope, with the acceptance decision and the engagement letter.
- Engagement letter
- The letter setting out the engagement, drafted from the firm's template, approved by a partner, sent and signed by the client.
- Filed / delivered
- The status of work filed with the authority or delivered to the client, with the date and the acknowledgement or reference.
- One-off work
- A piece of work outside a client's regular services, such as a reply to a tax query or an advisory project, with a deadline set by hand.
- Period
- The month, quarter or year a piece of work covers; yearly work follows the calendar year or the client's financial year.
- Person responsible
- The person who does a piece of work and updates its status.
- Planning horizon
- How many days ahead work is planned (180 by default). Later periods are planned as the time comes.
- Practice administrator
- The role that looks after users, settings, the services catalogue and the firm's records.
- Reviewer
- The person who reviews and completes work that needs review; never the person responsible.
- Scheduled jobs
- The hourly run that plans the coming periods' work and sends reminders.
- Service
- Something the firm does for clients, with a service line, how often it comes round, a due-date rule and whether it is statutory or needs review.
- Service line
- Accounting, tax and compliance, audit and assurance, payroll, company secretarial, consulting and advisory, or other.
- Statutory deadline
- A deadline set by law or regulation; missed ones appear in the Statutory deadlines missed report.
- Step-up
- A fresh code from the authenticator app asked for before a decision that binds the firm.
- TroveSuite

- Viewer
- The read-only role, for an inspector or a reviewer from outside the firm.
