Does PracticeTrove do the bookkeeping, payroll or audit?

No. PracticeTrove runs the practice — clients, services, engagements, deadlines, who does what. The work itself is done in BookTrove, PayTrove, AuditTrove and SQMTrove, or in whatever the client uses. For clients on TroveSuite, each piece of work has a button to open the app.

Our client does not use TroveSuite. Can we still track its work?

Yes. Its work is planned in exactly the same way; leave the TroveSuite box off on the client and update each piece of work's status, due date and people by hand (chapter 9).

Where do the due dates come from?

From each service's due-date rule (chapter 4), the client's financial year end, and the client's own date or day on its service, such as the AGM date (chapter 6). A date can also be changed by hand on a piece of work.

Why is next year's audit not in the tracker yet?

Work is planned for periods whose due date falls within the planning horizon, 180 days by default. Later periods show their date with "planned nearer the time" on the client's services, and are planned automatically when the date comes within the horizon.

Can the person who prepared the work complete it?

Not if the work needs review and the firm's review rule is on. They send it for review; the reviewer, or a manager who did not prepare it, completes it (chapter 10).

Why am I asked for an authenticator code again?

Accepting an engagement, approving a letter and recording that a client has ceased bind the firm, so partners confirm them with a fresh code (step 5.7).

How do we record the acceptance decision from SQMTrove?

On the engagement, choose Record the decision, choose Cleared (or Declined) and enter the SQMTrove acceptance review's reference (step 11.4).

Can we change the engagement letter?

Yes: the firm's template in Settings → Engagement letter (step 2.3), and each letter's own text before it is approved (step 12.2). After approval, only a partner can change it.

Who gets reminders?

The person responsible for each piece of work (due soon, due today, overdue) and the reviewer of work in review. Each person gets at most one reminder per run (chapter 14).

Can we import our client list?

Yes, from a CSV file with a header row, up to 500 clients at a time, with their partner, manager and services (chapter 7).

Can someone work for two firms?

Yes. One login can belong to several firms, each with its own role. They switch firms under Settings → Firms (step 15.3).

How do we give an inspector access?

Add them with the Viewer (read-only) role: they see clients, engagements, work, reports and the audit trail, and change nothing (step 15.4).
