8. The practice hub: working in your clients' apps

Part A: For partners. Open BookTrove, PayTrove, AuditTrove or SQMTrove of a client who invited you, with single sign-on and the role the client gave you.

Clients often want their accountant inside their apps. The client invites you in the app (for example BookTrove's Users page) using the same email address as your partner login. The app reports its members to the portal, and the company then appears under Your client companies on your dashboard, whether or not you referred it.

Open signs you in to the app as a member of that company, with the role the client gave you. The app checks your membership again every time: it never creates a login or a membership, never accepts an invitation for you, and refuses if the client has removed you or the subscription has ended. Each launch is recorded in TroveUniverse's audit log against the client company.

8.1 An invitation not yet accepted

Why

Until you accept the client's invitation (from the app's email), the hub shows it but cannot open the app (1).

What to do

  1. Open the invitation email from the app and accept it. The hub updates the next time the app reports its members (straight away after member changes, and at least daily for BookTrove and AuditTrove).

8.2 Open a client's app

Why

The card shows your role in each app (2) and the subscription status. Open BookTrove (1) takes you to books.troveuniverse.com/sso-callback with a two-minute single sign-on token; BookTrove then opens Savannah Harvest's company with the Accountant role. PayTrove still shows "Invitation not yet accepted".

What to do

  1. Choose Open next to the app.
  2. Work in the app with the role the client gave you. To leave, sign out of the app or close the tab.
  • Open is available while your partnership is active or suspended; it stops when the partnership has ended.
  • Open is not offered when the client's subscription for that app is revoked, cancelled or not paid for, or when the company has been closed.
  • A suspended subscription (read-only after non-payment) still opens, read-only.
